Day 20
|
Movies Everywhere...
I'm thinking of seeing a movie this afternoon, and while I had the opportunity to see "Sweeney Todd" last night (I will be seeing it at some point) I was far too tired and traffic was a mess. I couldn't make it. So, I'm sitting here considering "Juno" and I'm also considering seeing "The Golden Compass" just because I like the book so far. There's also "Enchanted", which stars McDreamy among others. I like watching McDreamy. If you don't know who McDreamy is, pick up an issue of People (Like say, this week's issue) and there you go.
Meanwhile Golden Globe Noms:
1. BEST MOTION PICTURE – DRAMA
1. AMERICAN GANGSTER Imagine Entertainment/Scott Free Productions; Universal Pictures 2. ATONEMENT Working Title Films Limited; Focus Features 3. EASTERN PROMISES Kudos Pictures/Serendipity Point Films; Focus Features 4. THE GREAT DEBATERS Harpo Films; The Weinstein Company/MGM 5. MICHAEL CLAYTON Samuels Media and Castle Rock Entertainment a Mirage Enterprises/Section 8 Production; Warner Bros. Pictures 6. NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN A Scott Rudin/Mike Zoss Production; Miramax Films/Paramount Vantage 7. THERE WILL BE BLOOD A Joanne Sellar/Ghoulardi Film Company Production; Paramount Vantage/Miramax Films
I have seen numbers 1 and 2 but not 3-7. Go figure. Hell, number 7 isn't even out yet and the people I know who saw #3 didn't even like it. And #4? WTF?
1 was good, 2 was great and very moving. I'd recommend them both for very different reasons as they are two vastly different films.
The Academy Awards are 2/24 this year, so we'll see. I think SAG got it right this week when they nominated "Into the Wild" for bunches of awards. It was one of my favorites this year by far and the book was a good read- I finished it in 2 days.Labels: awards, movies |
